Andrzej Sapkowski lengyel fantasyíró. Legismertebb műve a Vaják-könyvsorozat, melyet több mint 20 nyelvre fordítottak le világszerte, és amely számos díjat is nyert.
Irodalmi pályájának kezdete előtt kereskedőként dolgozott, majd sci-fi művek fordítójaként tevékenykedett.
Első művét, a későbbiekben világsikerré váló Vaják- ot 1986-ban írta meg, saját elmondása szerint fia unszolására.
A történetet később jelentősen bővítette és saját univerzumot is alkotott hozzá, amely három rövid történeteket tartalmazó könyvből és öt regényből áll, melyekre jelentős hatással volt a szláv mitológia.
Később televíziós sorozatok és számítógépes játékok is készültek a műből.
